THE FOURTH OF JULY IS SUCH A FUN HOLIDAY... THERE ARE PARADES, BARBEQUES, SWIMMING, AND OF COURSE FIREWORKS! WE DECIDED TO DO SOME FIRE WORKS AT HOME (SAFE ONES OF COURSE), GO SWIMMING AT
MY MOM AND DAD'S HOUSE, AND THEN HEAD OFF TO THE FIREWORKS SHOW AT THE U OF R STADIUM. WE DID MANAGE TO GET BOTH KIDS TO TAKE A NAP. THIS WAS GREAT BECAUSE WE DID NOT GET HOME FROM THE FIREWORKS UNTIL AFTER TEN.

FOR SOME REASON MY PICTURES ARE SHOWING UP FROM THE END OF THE NIGHT TO THE BEGINNING. HMMM, LETS JUST SAY I AM STILL FIGURING THIS BLOGGING THING OUT. WE GOT A NEW PAINTING SET TODAY, AND HAD TO TRY IT OUT THE SECOND WE GOT HOME. WE PAINTED EVERYTHING IN SIGHT, EVEN I GOT PAINTED ON. IT ALL STARTED SO INNOCENTLY WITH A LITTLE PAINT ON THEIR HANDS. IT THEN MOVED ON TO THEIR FEET, AND CONTINUED FROM THERE. THEY HAD A BLAST! CLEAN UP WAS EVEN FUN. BOTH B & N LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER, SO WE JUST MAD IT A GAME.

Nathan & Brooke's niece is staying with us for a few weeks. We have been enjoying every second of it. Today they decided to put on a show. I got the camera and got a shot of the girls singing twinkle twinkle little star. I just love how they have their little hands. We will miss her greatly when she goes.

Well, we finally decided to re-do, the no good, terrible, disgusting, ugly, &**@@%**, floors (can you tell how I felt about them)! So being the intelligent person, I decided that we should paint our kitchen cabinets also. Get two things done at once, right??? Wrong! Never do two huge projects at the same time. Our house was a disaster. Not that it is always "clean" , but let me just say disaster one more time. We decided to hire out both grandmas to help us get some kind of control. My mom, came to paint (brooke helped also), and Aaron's mom watched the kids. It took us about two weeks, but we are pretty much done.

I was wondering if IT was going to happen. Nathan never did IT, and Brooke is already two, so I thought we were way past IT. What is IT you might ask??? IT is sticking something up your nose that does not belong there! So here is the story...
My mom and I went to a friends open house today. There were no children allowed, so I brought playdough for them to use while they waited in the car. My mom and I took turns going in, while the other waited in the car with the kiddos. Both of them did great! When we were driving home I noticed something bright orange hanging out of Brooke's nose. I told her to take the playdough out of her nose. "I did" she replies. So I left it alone. When we got home I pulled some of it out only to find more of it stuck WAY up there. Come on, why oh why would you want to stick playdough that far up your nose??? To wrap it up, after much picking, poking and pulling I got most of it out (not all). And we had a long talk, about 30 seconds (remember she is two) about why we don't stick "stuff" up our noses.

MY FUNNY 2 YEAR OLD

Oh the things that come out of my precious two year olds mouth... I could write a book with them. Today we picked Aaron up for lunch and she kept telling me she wanted to go on the alligator. I am pretty good at "Brooke" translating, but what in the world is an alligator? It turns out it was the elevator (duh) LOL.
She is doing her poops in the potty now (sorry if this is to much information), every time she gets off she tells me what her poop is. Today she said she pooped santa clause. Nathan even had to come look at this one. To my surprise he agreed with her! While all of this two year old chatter is going on, I also have many 4 year old happenings also. Today at Target Nathan fell in the middle of the aisle, and yelled "mom I hurt my balls". Yep, right there in front of everyone. What can you do but laugh in a situation like that :)

OUTSIDE PLAY

Playing outside is one of our favorite things to do during the day. We try to get outside in the morning for a walk, which usually ends up with some one scrapping a knee and several bugs picked up along the way. We also really enjoy playing in the back yard. Brooke has recently gotten her first tea set. We took it out with us for a trial run. As you can see in the pictures, Brooke is not the only one who enjoyed it! Nathan really enjoyed it as well. He would talk in his best accent and say "gentlemen, would you like some more tea?" I am still not sure why he was calling us gentleman, but it made perfect since to him and Brooke.

Since it was such a nice day we decided to blow up the new pool we bought. It took FOREVER to fill it up with air. By the time we were finished it was dark outside. The kids were so tired of waiting to swim that they jumped in before the water had filled it up! They did however have a blast even with only two inches of water :) You can tell how much they love swimming by the joy on their faces.

It has been a busy, busy, busy week and weekend! My sister and her family are here from Brazil. She has a baby who is one. Her and Brooke have gotten to be really good friends. They are leaving on Tuesday, we will be sad to seem them go. I have taken a lot of pictures this week, I hope to post them tomorrow.
We went to the living desert today. It was HOT! Nathan's favorite animals were the fish, and Brooke's were the frogs (Grammy influenced her vote) lol. We had a great time!
Aaron is on a business to Tulsa this week. He will be back Wednesday night. When I was putting Nathan to bed tonight, he asked me if daddy would be home when we woke up. I know he is really missing him, and so am I!

It's official, my baby boy is four! We had a bowling party for him, at Empire bowl, and it turned out great. All of his family, best friends, and even his great grandpa and grandma showed up to celebrate with us (Thank you everyone who came). We bowled for the first hour, we then moved on to eating, opening presents, and of course singing happy birthday. Nathan's favorite toy was a Thomas the Train race hill. Yes, he still loves his Thomas. We play with it EVERYDAY. Another one of his favorites that he got was a sprinkler toy (see pics). Actually, I know he loved everything that he got, because first thing this morning he wanted to play with it all.
He asked me this morning if it was still May 17th. I told him it was not, and he said "how many more days until it will be again"? "Go ask daddy" I said, lol. Anyways we are looking forward to spending another great year with our Nathan Jack, and we are looking forward to our sweet little Brooke Lynn's birthday in August. I wonder what type of party she will want???
On a side note, my dad is on a mini family reunion trip to Missouri. We can't wait for him to get back to let us know all about it.

I was not going to post anything until after Nathan's party. However, what happened today is a must tell. My sweet angel Brookie got her head stuck in the toilet, yep the toilet (Laughing out Loud)! We had Nathan's potty seat on the big toilet and she stuck her head in it to see what "business" Nathan had done. She came up with it on her head. It was cute, but I told her it was dirty and to take it off. Instead of taking it off she pulled it on to her neck. I pulled and pulled and pulled, with no luck, It was STUCK. I called to get some advice
from my mom, and she said to put her in the bath and grease her up. I did, and you guessed it, still stuck!!! As you can imagine Brooke was in a panic, and yes I am still laughing so hard I am crying. I then decided to call the non-emergency police line, the lady laughed and said you need to call 911. Oh no, how do I explain this? I called and they said they would send someone right out. Now, Nathan thinks this is pretty cool that the fire engine is coming to our house. I hear them coming down the street, I try to get my laughter under control, by the time they come in. The first fireman there said he was going to wiggle it off of her head. Yeah right, do you really think I would call 911 if the toilet seat could be wiggled off? He tried with no luck, then the second fireman said let me do it. Now poor Brooke is really crying because they are hurting her trying to pull it off. Finally they decided it was stuck. They got out these really cool cutting things and cut it off of her neck. Nathan was not to thrilled about this, due to the fact that it was his potty seat. The fireman had us come outside to see the truck, it's lights, and the siren. They gave both Nathan and Brooke a hat. They were SO nice to us! Brooke even told them thank you.
I just had to take pictures. I got some before she was free and after. I will for sure save these for when she is 18.

Today is my first official blog. I am going to try and post something each week. My babies are at such a fun age now, they seem to do something special/funny every day, and I don't want to forget a moment of it. As Aaron knows, I don't have the best memory :)
today we went swimming in our back yard. Nathan and Brooke had their hair cut by my good friend Heather just before we went in, so we decided to whip out the bubbles, and take a bath in the pool. I am not sure if they got any cleaner, due to all of the grass and dirt getting in the pool, but it was fun and all of the water stayed outside.

Two day count down to Nathan's 4th birthday party. I can't believe my baby is going to be FOUR! I think I am more excited about the party than him.

Off to bed now, it is almost midnight. I get my nightowlness (is that a word?) from my mom. I am sure she is still up also :)
